The Royal Grammar School Newcastle is one of the country’s leading independent schools. The school offers excellent opportunities for its students and utilise high performance technology as part of the exceptional standard of education available.
The school campus was undergoing a project of improvements and thus the building which contains their IT office and server room was scheduled to be demolished. The RGS decided to engage Beeso IT due to our ability to provide complete project delivery and management capabilities.
Beeso IT provided a dedicated project manager who was responsible for delivery of the entire project. Working alongside Beeso IT engineering and consultant resource to undertake all installation, relocation and upgrade of core IT systems.
Our specialist infrastructure procurement partner Convergent Technology were engaged to supply the upgraded components for the project. Due the unique partnership between Beeso IT and Convergent Technology the Account management team worked alongside the consultants to ensure the new design met the exacting RGS requirements and was delivered on time within the project schedule.
- Installation of new fibre cabling to 15 cabinets around campus
- Supply and upgrade of Cisco Core networking
- Upgrade of Cisco fibre backbone to 10GB
- Upgrade of Nimble SAN connectivity
- Relocation of IT systems with zero business hours downtime
The move happened on schedule and without disruption to the school. All fibre links were upgraded and the new systems installed. The RGS now benefit from a much improved, future proof solution in their new location.
